The ASCoC wraps up the year this weekend on the 21st-22nd. The points battle comes down to Chad Kemenah and Dale Blaney, Kemenah holding an 18 point advantage. If Kemenah finishes 8th or better he clinches the title outright. Blaney will have to finish at least 10 spots ahead of Kemenah (if he doesn't win) or 9 spots ahead if he does win.
The format is (in my opinion) a bit wonky. Friday features ASCoC qualifying and heat races with an unrelated "Race of Champions" for the sprint cars. Anyone who has ever won a track or sanctioning body's title is eligible to enter. Friday also includes complete shows for sport modifieds and modifieds. Saturday's events consists of the main events D (if needed), C, B, and A mains, and a 20k to win prize; in addition to deciding the points battle. Another full night of sports modifieds and modifieds will also occur.
Who do you think will win the All Star Title? Kemenah has a significant advantage heading into the race and barring a bizzare error I imagine he'll win the title although I do believe Blaney will have a better finish.
Also, what do you think of the two day, one show format? Over on pitgate it seems like the general consensus is nobody likes it. I don't care for it per say, but I do see what they were trying to do. I feel like if they wanted to do the two day show this way they should've done a nationals style format where they accrue points for Saturday's race. But that's simply my opinion.
Finally, here is a list of people who are (allegedly) participating in the race of champions on Friday followed by the payout scale for both Sprint events.
